Physics-Based LED Modeling and Nonlinear Distortion Mitigating With Real-Time Implementation

In this paper, a nonlinear model for Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) inspired by semiconductor physics, and corresponding post-compensator are implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) real-time Visible Communications (VLC). Our experiments demonstrate that the LED effectively characterizes dynamic nonlinearity, including memory effects. The output signal of shows good resemblance with measured output. addition, dedicated equalizer, say, post-compensator, physical can mitigate distortion substantially. Thereby it facilitates high data rate over bandwidth-limited LED. It compensator is attractive practical digital processing systems due to its performance low complexity.
